CSK vs KKR IPL 2025: The Chennai Super Kings' campaign seems to be struggling this time. They had won just one match till now against arch-nemesis Mumbai Indians and post that they have looked listless. Not even MS Dhoni becoming their skipper and replacing the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad has helped them in any way. On Friday, the CSK fans were hopeful that the legendary former Indian wicket-keeper batter would weave his magic again but they were left surprised.
In their backyard, the MS Dhoni-led side registered their lowest-ever total of 103/9 due to their batting collapse. RCB is the only team to have posted a lower total than this- of 70-all out at the Chepauk stadium, way back in the 2019 IPL.
There were people, who hoped that if the franchise was fighting demons within, KKR then dismissed all those claims as they comprehensively chased down the below-par target in just 10.1 overs.
It was CSK's fifth consecutive loss in the six matches that they have played till now and have scored just two points and are lying in the ninth position in the points table.
Ex-CSK batter Subramaniam Badrinath did sympathize with the fans, who are continuously getting disappointed with their team players.
“CSK fans deserve better," Badrinath had written on his official X account.

Ex-India cricketer K Srikanth has urged the five-time IPL champions to bring in changes to their batting lineup and compared that to KKR and described them as a team practicing for the most extended format.
“One of CSK’s worst defeats ever. Powerplay batting looked like a rehearsal for a test match. The whole XI feels like it’s running on nostalgia. It's time to think out of the box, why not try some unsold players like Prithvi Shaw at this point? Would you try it? Even chaos is a strategy?" Srikanth had written on his official X account.
