JE Sports Desk: India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Sachin Tendulkar extended heartfelt wishes as former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned 42 on Friday.

The legendary figure of Indian cricket Dhoni has received wishes from former cricketers to current stars on social media. BCCI, Chennai Super Kings, and Jay Shah were among the first ones to wish the wicketkeeper-batter on his special day.

Pant, who is undergoing rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, shared a special message for his former India teammate.

"An inspiration to so many people across the country. Thanks for everything you have done for the Indian cricket. Happy birthday Mahi bhai," Pant tweeted.

Tendulkar shared the wishes in a cheeky style and blessed the cricketer to touch new heights.

"May you always fly high like your helicopter shots. Happy birthday, MS!," he wrote on Twitter.

India T20I captain Hardik Pandya, Tilak Verma Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Yuvraj Singh, Shreyas Iyer, and Kuldeep Yadav also posted birthday wishes for Dhoni.

Dhoni represented India in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is and scored 17,266 runs across formats including 16 centuries and 108 fifties in a 15-year-long international career.

Three-time ICC title holder continues to lead Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. In the last edition of IPL, Dhoni led his side to a record-equaling fifth title after beating Gujarat Titans in the summit clash.
