IND U19 vs ENG U19: On Tuesday, when the senior men's Indian team to England during the first Test match, the young Indian team performed brilliantly in similar conditions. The India U19 team under the captaincy of Ayush Mahtre defeated the hosts by a huge margin of 231 runs during a one-sided practice match and sent a stern warning to England U19 before the first youth ODI, which would be held on Friday.

This was the Men in Blue's first match of their series against England. The youngsters who looked quite confident, had posted a mammoth target of 444 runs, where they had smashed 26 sixes and then skittled the hosts for just 211 runs.

Although the Shubman Gill-led side did lose the first Test match under Gill's leadership the youngsters did grab attention by a huge margin. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who is considered one of the upcoming talents in Indian cricket, was playing in his debut series against England. Even though he did score just 17 runs off 13 balls, but showed intent as he batted at a strike rate of 130 and had smashed two fours and a six.

But, it was the lower middle-order batters who performed brilliantly. Harvansh Pangalia, who came into bat at the No.9 position, took the English bowlers to the cleaners. He scored 103 runs off 52 balls, in which he had smashed nine sixes and eight fours and thus left the bowlers clueless. Other batters like Kanishk Chauhan, Rahul Kumar, and RS Ambrish also made significant contributions.

Besides batters, the Indian bowlers too shone brightly. The hosts were nowhere near the chase and they succumbed under the pressure.

This warm-up match had set the foundation of a high-octane series. The India U19 team will lock horns with England for a five-youth ODI series and two multi-day matches. The ODI series will be held at venues like Hove, Northampton, and Worcester between June 27 to July 7. The first four-day match would start on July 12 and the second match would be held on July 20 in Chelmsford. The series would end on July 23.

With upcoming talents like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Harvansh Pangalia, and captain Ayush Mhatre on the side, expectations are high from this young team. A lot of people would see this series as a hunting ground for future international stars, especially Suryavanshi, who plays aggressively and can adapt well to the conditions.
