Virat Kohli Batting Record, IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: Virat Kohli has established himself as one of the greatest white-ball cricketers in history. He produced another iconic performance to help India beat Australia by 9 wickets in the third and final ODI at the iconic SCG on Saturday.

On the back of a match-winning fifty, Virat surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 18,369 runs to become the top-scorer in white-ball cricket (ODIs + T20Is). Virat might be second in the list of runs in ODI history, but his stats in T20Is helped him go past the batting great Sachin. Interestingly, Sachin represented India in just one T20I match.

Virat reached Australia after a break of a few months, having retired from Tests and T20Is, and his final international appearance came during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final. He had a disappointing start to the three-match series and was dismissed for 0 in both the Perth and Adelaide ODIs.

During his stay at the crease on Saturday, Virat also achieved a historic record as he surpassed Kumar Sangakkara to become the third top run-getter in the history of ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, Australia ended up winning the series 2-1, thanks to their convincing wins in the first two games.
