IND vs OMA, Asia Cup 2025: Sanju Samson's half-century powered India to a competitive total of 188/8 against Oman's belligerent bowling attack in their last Group Stage match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Samson top-scored with 56 off 45 balls, while Abhishek Sharma blazed away with 38 off just 15 balls. For Oman, Shah Faisal and Aamir Kaleem picked two wickets each.

Oman's bowlers put up a brave effort, claiming 8 wickets of the world champions and restricting India's free-flowing batting onslaught to 188.

Opting to bat first on a sluggish pitch, Abhishek Sharma was off to a free-flowing start, but Shubman Gill was dismissed early in the second over.

In a surprising event, skipper Suryakumar Yadav didn't come out to bat, remaining at number 11. Skipper Surya, who pushed himself down to No. 11, also gave Hardik Pandya a chance to get a few hits but he was unfortunately run-out at the non-striker's end after a Samson straight drive deflected off bowler's hands to hit the stumps.

Hardik Pandya met with an untimely dismissal, falling victim to a run out at the non-striker's end in the 8th over of the innings.

As Oman started to mount pressure on India, tightening the contest with their bowling, Men in Blue received contributions from Axar Patel and Tilak Varma, while Samson top-scored with a sedate fifty.

Left-handed Axar did his job to perfection in upping the ante and maintaining the tempo set by Abhishek Sharma, who again hit a whirlwind 38 off 15 balls -- his third consecutive score of 30 or more. Towards the end, Harshit Rana also contributed with an unbeaten 13 and hit a six of the last ball.
