Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar categorically dismissed a video circulating online that portrays him endorsing a gaming application promising easy money. In the video, Tendulkar can be observed discussing the supposed benefits of the application, claiming surprise at the simplicity of money-making and mentioning that even his daughter uses the platform.
Taking swift action, Tendulkar declared the video as "fake" and expressed his concerns about the misuse of technology. The cricket icon clarified that he had not endorsed any such gaming application and disassociated himself from any misleading promotions.
"These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers," Tendulkar, 50, posted on social media platform X.
The voice used in the video matches Tendulkar's.
"Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes," he wrote further. Check out the post here:
