India's star cricketer Rinku Singh has started a new chapter in his life as he has now gotten engaged to MP Priya Saroj during a private ceremony at the Centrum Hotel in Lucknow on Sunday. His close family members and friends and a few guests from the world of cricket and politics also attended the event.
Ahead of the engagement ceremony, Rinku along with his family paid a visit to the Chaudhera Wali Vichetra Devi temple in Bulandshahar, UP to take blessings. The couple reached the venue together and were seen dressed in coordinated white and pink dresses. The engagement was being held in Fulcurn halls, which were decorated with flowers and vibrant lightning. The venue had a capacity of more than 300 people, and guests from both the political and cricketing worlds attended the event.
Ex-India cricketers like Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, and UP's Ranji Trophy skipper Aryan Juyal also attended the event. The politicians who attended the engagement were Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, MP Dimple Yadav, and Priya Saroj’s close friend and fellow parliamentarian Iqra Hasan. Samajwadi Party's senior leader Professor Ram Gopal Yadav and Congress leader Rajeev Shukla were also the attendees.
The engagement celebration consisted of a 12x16 foot stage and the food menu consisted of traditional Lucknow cuisine, where some of the dishes were chosen by the couple themselves. Rinku Singh's close friends were given five rooms at the Centrum of the 15 being reserved for the guests.

It was a tight-knit secured event, where only those guests with barcoded passes were allowed. A team of private security personnel along with the state police were guarding the event.
Rinku Singh had an underwhelming stint during IPL 2025 as he could score just 206 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders at a below-par average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73. KKR finished in the eighth position in the points table as they won five matches out of the 14 and scored 12 points.
Irrespective of his performance during IPL 2025, he is still an important player of India's T20I team. He has represented India in 30 T20Is and has scored 507 runs at a brilliant average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 165.14, which also includes three fifties. He made his T20I debut against Ireland way back in 2023 and is still eyeing his first T20I hundred.
He has also played for India in two ODIs and a has brilliant record in domestic cricket. After playing in 52 List A matches, he has scored 1899 runs at a staggering average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 94.8.
