T20 World Cup 2026: The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will be hosting one semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2026, and the first match, along with the summit clash, will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As per an Indian Express report, the 20-team mega event will be held between February 7 and March 8, where Ahmedabad will be hosting the first match and the final, whereas one of the two semifinals will be held in Mumbai.

If arch-rivals India and Pakistan face each other in a semifinal, then it will be held in Colombo, and one of the semifinals will be held in Mumbai.

During the 2016 T20 World Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup as well, one of the semifinals was held in Wankhede Stadium, and in 2011, this venue hosted the final.

Besides Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata will be hosting India's matches. Meanwhile, three venues have also been selected in Sri Lanka to host matches.

As per the report, the Men in Blue will be playing all their games in 4 big cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai, and a few warm-up matches will be held in Bengaluru. But it will be interesting to see whether these matches will be held at CoE or M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The ICC will be revealing the schedule of the mega event in the next few days.

As per the report, “In a meeting held among top BCCI officials, it was decided that this time the World Cup will be played in fewer cities compared to the 2023 World Cup, and each venue is expected to get at least six games each."

The ICC has informed BCCI that if Sri Lanka reaches the semis, then that semifinal will be held in Colombo. And if Pakistan qualifies for the summit clash, then it will be held outside India. The India vs Pakistan game will also be held in Sri Lanka.
