World Test Championship 2025-27 Points Table: On the back of a commanding win in Sydney on Thursday, the Australian Test side continued to strengthen their position at the top of the World Test Championship points table for the 2025-27 season. The World Test Championship finalists from the previous edition faced a massive task before the Ashes series due to the absence of regular skipper Pat Cummins and bowling mainstay Josh Hazlewood. However, former captain Steve Smith led from the front to help his side secure the series by a dominant 4-1 margin.
The England Cricket Team, under Ben Stokes, did not have many positives in the series, but they were able to break their 16-year-long streak of losing a Test match in Australia. Notably, England secured a 4-wicket win in the Melbourne Test, which was their only win in the series.
World Test Championship Points Table Scenario:
Australia made a steady improvement in their PCT (points percentage) from 85.71 to 87.50 after they secured their seventh win in the cycle. With just one loss in the cycle, the Australians are well placed in the points table.
The defeat did not mean any degradation for England as they retained their seventh spot in the table. However, their PCT got reduced to 31.66 as they suffered their sixth loss in 10 games.
India are in fourth spot with four wins, four losses and one draw in the cycle.
New Zealand hold on to second place on the table after three games, with a healthy PCT of 77.78. Defending champions South Africa follow with a PCT of 75.00, and Sri Lanka has a PCT of 66.67.
