Delhi Car Blast: The Delhi Police has detained close to a dozen suspects related directly or indirectly to the arrested persons in connection with the Red Fort car blast case. This is the first set of suspects rounded up by Delhi Police after the terror attack.

A powerful blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening caused panic across Old Delhi, leaving at least 13 people dead and several others injured. The explosion took place outside Gate No. 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station, setting multiple vehicles on fire.

All suspects are being questioned by multiple agencies, said Delhi Police sources, as quoted by news agency ANI. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have issued an alert across all police stations, outposts, and border checkpoints in the capital to track a red Ford EcoSport (DL10CK0458 ) suspected to be connected to the Red Fort blast case.

Kashmir-based medic Dr Umar-un-Nabi has been linked to the Hyundai i20 car which exploded near Red Fort. Though DNA results are awaited, police said that Dr Umar was likely behind the wheels when the massive explosion rocked the car and nearby area.

The initial findings suggest that the suspect Dr Umar Nabi triggered an explosion in panic, indicating that it was not a suicide attack. As per reports, the crime was committed under severe pressure due to the raids by the security agencies in several key cities.

Apart from this, the suspect also did not follow the usual pattern of the suicide attack as he did not collided the car with any object intentionally. The home ministry on Tuesday handed over the case to the NIA, considering it a possible act of terror.
