Kaju Katli In English:  Kaju Katli is popularly known as cashew slice or cashew fudge in English, and few modern restaurants. The name is simply an English translation of Hindi words ‘kaju,’ which is cashew nuts, and katli means thin slices. However, it is also important to note that the English translation doesn’t hold the essence of Indian Kaju Katli, which is q classic Indian sweet made of ground cashew nuts and sugar as main ingredients. They are prepared with a smooth dough-like consistency, rolled out, cut into thin diamond-shaped slices, and are incomplete without the decoration of edible silver foil over them.

In some places, across India, Kaju Katli is also known as Kaju Barfi and cashew burfi in modern or urban Indian regions. Barfi simply means an Indian sweet, which is made of milk with sugar and flavourings. However, the interesting part is that Kaju Katli essentially is not made of milk and is softer and thinner than your usual barfi.
