The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled the registration of 26 Bihar schools due to failing to comply with its parameters.
According to IANS, the decision was made because the CBSE had been closely monitoring these schools for a few years and had advised them on several occasions to enhance their facilities. However, they disregarded the recommendations.
According to media reports, the board decided to cancel the registration since the schools were charging higher annual fee, monthly fee, and admission fees while not providing enough amenities.
Along with the 26 schools, the board also cancelled the registration of 10 schools in Jharkhand. Following this decision, the board granted a one-time relaxation to approximately 7,000 students who were taking board exams, clarifying that the new registration of 36 schools would not be considered valid.
