Tomorrow School Holiday (5 Dec): Schools and colleges across Maharashtra will be closed on December 5, 2025. The main reason for this is that the Principals' Association has called for a statewide strike. A meeting was recently held in Pune regarding this matter, and the association has made it clear that a march will be held on that day to the offices of all district collectors.
Teachers and non-teaching staff in primary and secondary schools across the state have several pending demands. These marches will be organized by the Maharashtra State Principals' Association to address these demands, and they will be held in every district of the state.
Teacher Strike on December 5th: Impact on Schools
Union leaders have stated that despite numerous appeals, several issues affecting teacher working conditions and student services remain unresolved. The December 5th strike aims to bring these issues to the government's attention.
School administrations have begun informing parents and students about the school closures. Academic activities, such as classes and exams scheduled for that day, are expected to be postponed or rescheduled.

Parents are advised to prepare in advance, as both teaching and non-teaching staff will not be present on the day of the strike. Further guidance is expected soon from the State Education Department.
