NEET UG Refund Portal 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the refund portal on May 21, 2026, offering relief to lakhs of candidates following the cancellation of the original examination held on May 3. The move comes after allegations of a paper leak triggered a nationwide controversy, leading authorities to cancel the exam and announce a re-test on June 21, 2026. Alongside the refund process, detailed guidelines have been shared with candidates regarding exam centres, fee refunds, medium of examination, and city preferences. Candidates must read the document carefully to understand the retest process and not miss any details.

NEET UG Refund Portal 2026 Goes Live Today

For the refund process, NTA will open a dedicated portal on May 21 for candidates to submit their bank account details. No additional fee will be charged for appearing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026, scheduled on June 21. The official notification said, “Fees already paid will be refunded to the students, and the exam will be re-conducted using NTA's internal resources.” 

No Fresh Registration Required for NEET UG Re-Exam 2026

The NTA has clarified that candidates do not need to register again for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. Existing application details submitted for the May 3 exam will automatically remain valid for the June 21 test. 

“The registration data, candidature, and examination centres opted for in the May 2026 cycle will be carried forward to the re-conducted examination. No fresh registration will be required, and no additional examination fee will be levied,” the official notice said.

Can Candidates Change Exam Medium or Centre?

One of the most common questions among aspirants has been regarding changes to the medium of examination. The NTA has stated that the language selected during the original application process cannot be changed now. However, candidates can update their city preferences, and examination centres may differ from the previously allotted locations depending on revised choices and administrative requirements. 

NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: Date and Timing

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled for June 21, 2026. The test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. An additional 15 minutes is provided for verification and examination formalities. Candidates will get fresh admit cards a few days before the exam.
