Delhi School Holiday Tomorrow: Ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit on September 12 and 13, the Delhi government has been arranging for the security, logistics and the movement of motorcades linked to the event. Following the movement restrictions across the city, the Directorate of Education, Delhi has announced a school holiday for September 11, 2026 under its jurisdiction. The decision applies to all government, government-aided, and recognised unaided private schools. The recent order follows the earlier announcement that Delhi government offices and Central Government offices will be shut tomorrow in view of the international event. Keeping schools and offices closed will reduce the number of commuters, thereby helping authorities to manage the traffic effectively and make necessary arrangements.
All Schools Across Delhi To Remain Closed Tomorrow
As per the official order, all government, private, and government-aided schools across Delhi will be shut on September 11, 2026. The decision has been taken ahead of the BRICS Summit on September 12 and 13 to make necessary traffic arrangements before the event. Furthermore, parents and students must contact their respective schools for additional information regarding classes, examinations, or any scheduled activities.
Government Offices Will Also Be Closed On September 11
The Delhi authorities are making necessary arrangements regarding security measures, traffic management, and logistics in view of the BRICS Summit. To help reduce inconvenience during the event, the government has ordered a holiday on September 11 for all government offices. Since September 12 and 13 are Saturday and Sunday, the employees will enjoy a long weekend.
Traffic Restrictions During The Event
Throughout the 3 days, traffic across the city will be either restricted or diverted on specific routes. Based on the information available, traffic diversions have been planned for 22 locations, while more than 35 routes may experience traffic regulation during the event. Commuters are advised to check the latest Delhi Traffic Police advice before leaving the house.
