SSC Coast Guard Vacancies 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for recruitment to various posts such as Navik and Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). Under this drive, a total of 365 vacancies across various cadres of the Indian Coast Guard will be filled. The registration process began on October 6, 2026, and candidates can register on the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in, until October 21, 2026.

Candidates are required to register first to be eligible to apply, as they have to register using their email ID and phone number, which will be required for future logins, downloading hall tickets, and results.

Candidates can check the vacancies for the aforementioned posts based on qualifications ranging from Class 10, 12 to ITI and diploma levels

SSC Coast Guard Recruitment 2026: Stage-wise Selection Process

The following are the four stages involved in the selection process for SSC Coast Guard 2026:

Stage I: The computer-based examination will consist of 100 questions for one hour in a bilingual language. It is non-negative marking scheme, and the qualifying marks for UR/EWS/OBC candidates are 40, while for SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks are 35.

Stage II comprises a physical test (1.6-km running, squats, and push-ups or sit-ups), biometric, document verification, and adaptability test.

Stages III and IV:  Initial shortlisting for the training at INS Chilka followed by final document verification.

SSC Coast Guard Recruitment 2026: Educational Qualification And Age Limit

For Navik (General Duty), applicants must have obtained Class 12 with Maths and Physics from a board recognised by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE). For Navik (Domestic Branch), applicants should have obtained Class 10th pass from a COBSE-recognised board.

For Hygienist-I, applicants should have obtained matriculation or ITI or equivalent from a board recognized by the Central/State Government.

For Yantrik, applicants should have obtained Class 10th pass from a COBSE-recognised board and should possess a three- to four-year diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering from a recognized institution approved by AICTE. Applicants possessing Class 10th & Class 12th pass along with 2-3 years diploma in respective fields from AICTE are also eligible.

For Navik (GD) 01/27 and 02/27 batches, candidates should be born between November 1, 2005 and May 1, 2009. For Yantrik 01/27, the birth-date range is May 1, 2005 to May 1, 2009. For Navik (DB) 02/27 and Hygienist-I 02/27, candidates should be born between November 1, 2005 and October 1, 2009, and between November 1, 2002 and October 1, 2009, respectively.
