QS World University Rankings Sustainability 2025 Out: The QS Quacquarelli Symonds, global higher education experts, have released the third edition of the QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2025. According to the rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has emerged as the top institution in India, securing a global rank of 171, an impressive improvement of 255 spots. IIT Kharagpur follows in second place with a global rank of 202, up by 147 ranks, while IIT Bombay takes third place with a global rank of 234, marking an improvement of 69 ranks.
The 2025 rankings feature 78 Indian universities, with nine of the top 10 institutions in the country showing improvements this year. Moreover, 21 universities are making their debut in these rankings.
IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras secured the fourth and fifth positions in India, with global ranks of 245 and 277, reflecting improvements of 177 and 67 ranks, respectively. Meanwhile, the University of Delhi is the only Indian institution to see a decline, dropping from a global rank of 220 last year to 299 this year, though it still holds the sixth position among Indian universities.
