Karnataka Election Result 2023: Koratagere (SC) is a State Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency located in the Tumkur district of the southern region of the state. It is also part of the Tumkur Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.

The current Karnataka Assembly Elections are characterised by a direct contest between the incumbent BJP and the principal opposition Congress. BJP is heavily relying on the popularity of PM Modi and the narrative of a double-engine government. Meanwhile, Congress has emphasised corruption as the primary issue in the lead-up to the election.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his 2-day tour to Karnataka from Humnabad in Bidar district, where he gave a speech to a public gathering. The BJP's election campaign in Karnataka is anticipated to get a boost with the PM's visit, during which he will deliver six public speeches and conduct two roadshows until Sunday. At the same time, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is also working to win over voters in Uttara Kannada.

Koratagere Assembly Election 2023

In the 2023 Karnataka Elections, the Koratagere constituency had three candidates competing against each other on May 10. These candidates are Sudhakar Lal from Janata Dal (Secular), G. Parameshwara from the Congress, and Anil Kumar from the BJP. The results of the election will be announced on May 13. In order to form a government in Karnataka, a party needs to win 113 out of the 224 seats.

The constituency has a total of 1,99,725 voters comprising of general, NRI, and service voters. The number of male voters is 1,00,292, female voters are 99,350, and there are 21 others. The sex' ratio of voters in the constituency is 99.01 and the estimated literacy rate is around 72 per cent.

Koratagere Assembly Election 2018

Congress' G. Parameshwara had won the seat in 2018 by defeating JD(S) candidate PR Sudhakar Lal with a margin of 7,619 votes. That year, this constituency had a voter turnout of 84.73 per cent.

In the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections, JDS emerged victorious in this constituency with a lead of 18,155 votes (11.93 per cent) by obtaining 47.44 per cent of the total votes cast. The voter turnout for the constituency was 83.78 per cent during that year.

In the 2008 Assembly Elections, this constituency was won by the Congress with a lead of 11,557 votes (9.07 per cent) and securing 38.65 per cent of the total votes cast. The voter turnout for the constituency was 77.28 per cent during that year.
