Aashram Season 3 Part 2 is on its way to enthrall the audience soon, with Bobby Deol reprising his role as Baba Nirala. The show gained popularity among viewers after its OTT debut in 2020. Being a part of such a series has marked a career turnaround for Bobby. He has received praise for his portrayal of the self-proclaimed godman, a role that revived his career after taking on protagonist roles in his earlier journey. During the trailer launch of Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2, the Animal actor opened up about what made him take on this role.
At the Aashram Season 3 Part 2 trailer launch event in Mumbai, Bobby Deol revealed that the show was offered to him at a time when he was exploring different roles. He told the media, "We, as actors, want to play characters that are different from who we are in real life. As an actor, you get the opportunity to be someone else without actually becoming that person. I was trying to do different roles, and I knew I wouldn’t be offered hero roles anymore. That’s why, when I accepted this show, I didn’t tell anyone. I was waiting for the show to come out and then see their reaction."
Bobby shared that he initially had doubts about taking on a role like Baba Nirala, but his wife, Tania Deol, encouraged him to do it. He said, "I spoke to my wife and told her that I was going to play such a character. She knew that I had been trying hard and wasn’t getting any roles that were interesting enough. So when she heard about it, she said, 'No, do it. Do whatever your heart wants. I am with you.'"
