Alia Bhatt is the latest victim of deepfake technology after Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Sara Tendulkar and Kajol in morphed videos circulating on social media. The viral video on social media featuring the version of Alia dressed in a floral blue outfit, seen making inappropriate gestures to the camera. However, vigilant netizens have identified that the girl in the video is not the actress, and raising concerns about the misuse of AI and such content. The footage has manipulated Alia's facial features onto another person's body.
Alia Bhatt fell prey to DeepFake technology shortly after several Indian celebrities encountered similar incidents, highlighting the distressing misuse of technology in the digitally era. Rashmika herself voiced concerns about the broader implications of technology misuse and the vulnerability of individuals to such manipulations.
Rashmika Mandanna's statement
The Animal actress, expressed her concerns about a deepfake and articulated her worries on a certain platform. She wrote, I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused."
"Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft," she added.

Kajol's DeepFake
Shortly after Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video incident, another video, this time featuring Bollywood actor Kajol, surfaced online. However, fact-checking platforms like BoomLive revealed that the video, portraying a woman with Kajol's face morphed onto her body, was actually sourced from an English social media influencer's TikTok post under the 'Get Ready With Me' trend.
Katrina Kaif
Amidst the use of deepfake technology, an altered image of Katrina Kaif from her movie Tiger 3 too went viral. In the edited version, her fight sequence with a stuntwoman, where she's clad in a towel, was manipulated to depict her wearing a low-cut white top and matching bottom instead.
