In an unprecedented move, BLACKPINK's Lisa has made headlines by renting out an entire street in Bangkok, Thailand, for her solo music video, Rockstar. The announcement of Rockstar came earlier this month from Lisa's own management company, LLOUD, via Instagram. The teaser, featuring a cartoonish, electric sound, has already garnered significant attention. Lisa also made waves by launching a TikTok account, where she teased snippets of her new music, quickly amassing a million followers and setting a Guinness World Record in just over two hours. The teaser was shared across multiple platforms, including YouTube, adding to the growing anticipation for her solo release.
Rockstar marks Lisa's first solo project since collaborating with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion on SG in 2021. That same year, she released two singles, Lalisa and Money, which she performed during BLACKPINK's headlining set at Coachella last year. Lisa's solo career took a significant step forward when she signed a deal with RCA in April, a move that allows her to retain ownership of her recordings. This deal has given her the confidence to push her solo career further, as she expressed her excitement about joining the RCA family and the bigger movement they are creating together.
