BTS Jungkook continues to make waves in the global music industry. His hit single SEVEN, featuring Latto, has exceeded an incredible 2.2 billion streams on Spotify. This achievement solidifies SEVEN as the most-streamed song by an Asian solo artist, reaching the milestone faster than any other track in the category.
Released on July 14, 2023, SEVEN became an instant sensation, proving Jungkook’s immense popularity on the international stage. Despite being on a hiatus due to his mandatory military service, the song’s success keeps his influence alive, with ARMYs celebrating the achievement across social media. Fans flooded platforms with congratulatory messages, making related hashtags trend worldwide.
From the start, SEVEN was a record-breaker. The song made history on Spotify by garnering 16 million streams within its first 24 hours, making it the biggest debut of 2023. It also debuted at #3 on the UK Singles Chart, marking the highest-ever ranking for a Korean solo act.
In the U.S., SEVEN dominated the Billboard Hot 100, claiming the #1 spot. This made Jungkook the second BTS member to top the chart with a solo release, following Jimin’s success with Like Crazy earlier that year.
The track also earned two Guinness World Records—one for being the most-streamed song in a single week and another for becoming the fastest song to reach 100 million Spotify streams. Beyond streaming, SEVEN collected multiple accolades, including Song of the Summer at the MTV VMAs, Best Song at the MTV EMAs and Top Global Kpop Song at the Billboard Music Awards. It also won Best Collaboration and Best Dance Performance - Male Solo at the MAMA Awards.
Although Jungkook is currently fulfilling his military service, his impact remains undeniable. Having enlisted in December 2023, he is expected to complete his service by June 2025. Until then, his music continues to break records, cementing his legacy as a global superstar.
