Costao tells a captivating story of moral rectitude, bravery, and selflessness that sheds light on a lesser-known chapter in Goa's history. The ZEE5 movie, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is highly anticipated because of its gripping story.
The one-minute, 37-second trailer for Costao offers a preview of a story about bravery and sacrifice. The life of a customs officer (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is totally turned upside down after a major mission. His life, career and family are all on the line!

Who Is Costao Fernandes?
Tony da Costa Fernandes, whose real name is Antonio Fwaminy da Costa Fernandes, was born in Cabinda, Angola, on April 26, 1942. He is an Angolan politician who has represented as ambassador to Egypt, India, and the United Kingdom.
Costa Fernandes gained notoriety for his valiant efforts to apprehend criminals and smugglers, frequently at the danger of his life, after becoming a Preventive Officer with Goa Customs in 1979.

One of his most noteworthy actions was stopping a major gold smuggling scheme in 1991, which involved Alvernaz Alemao, the brother of politician Churchill Alemao. Following a car chase typical of Bollywood, he had successfully busted a gold smuggling ring one day after receiving a tip. Alvernaz Alemao suffered severe injuries as a result of Costao Fernandes using a weapon in self-defense during the pursuit. Later, Alvernaz passed away from his wounds.
Costa Fernandes established a case against the Alemao brothers, which resulted in their arrest under the COFEPOSA (Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act).
Things were not easy for Costa Fernandes! His life was in danger whilst he was also charged with murder. The sessions court even found him guilty. However, all proceedings against him were annulled by the Supreme Court when the matter made it that far. The customs officer received the President's Award in 1996 for his bravery and unrelenting dedication.

Costao Movie Cast And Plot
The streaming service ZEE5 is scheduled to release the movie. The release date, however, has not yet been disclosed.
Castao's cast includes Hussain Dalal, Gagan Dev Riar, Priya Bapat, Kishore Kumar Huli, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Sejal Shah's directorial is backed by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Bhavesh Mandalia, Sejal Shah, Shyam Sunder, and Faizuddin Siddiqui.
