Dawood Ibrahim’s Drug Parties Controversy: A man accused in a major drugs case has reportedly told Mumbai Police that he organised high-profile rave parties attended by Bollywood and fashion industry celebrities, as well as individuals linked to the underworld. Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, also known as Lavish in narcotics circles, was deported from Dubai last month and is currently being held by the Anti-Narcotics Cell’s Ghatkopar unit. According to officials, Shaikh has alleged that he arranged drug-fuelled parties in India and abroad that were attended by well-known film personalities and gangsters, including Alishah Parkar, the nephew of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. His claims have sparked fresh concern within investigative agencies, as they continue to probe an international drug syndicate connected to a Rs 252 crore mephedrone seizure in Sangli, Maharashtra in 2024.
According to a report in PTI stated that Shaikh confessed to supplying drugs at these parties and maintained a lifestyle that earned him the nickname ‘Lavish’. He was known for using high-end cars, watches, and clothes while allegedly operating as part of a global drug network. After his deportation, Shaikh was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch in connection to the mephedrone haul. Authorities believe that he worked closely with other traffickers from Dubai and was brought back to India following a Red Corner Notice. With his recent statements, investigators are now looking into the possibility that several other traffickers may have also organised similar events for the same circle of celebrities. The police have not ruled out questioning the public figures named by Shaikh during his interrogation.

Bollywood Names Emerge In Dawood-Linked Drug Parties Probe
In a separate but related development, more Bollywood personalities have been mentioned in the ongoing investigation into drug parties allegedly connected to Dawood Ibrahim’s network. Reports suggest that Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell uncovered a larger drug syndicate run by wanted criminal Salim Dola, believed to be an associate of Dawood. As reported by India Today, the syndicate was operated from Dubai, and Dola’s son, Taher Dola extradited from the UAE in August has revealed several details to investigators. Documents accessed by the publication state that Taher claimed a range of Bollywood actors, models, rappers, filmmakers and even relatives of Dawood Ibrahim attended drug parties he organised.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Mumbai Crime Branch may soon summon the actors and celebrities named in the case to record their statements as part of the widening investigation. So far, neither Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, nor their teams have responded publicly to the allegations. More updates are expected as the case develops, especially as the police attempt to verify the claims made by both Shaikh and Taher Dola. Interestingly, Shraddha Kapoor once portrayed Dawood Ibrahim’s sister, Haseena Parkar, in the 2017 biographical film directed by Apoorva Lakhia, while her brother Siddharth Kapoor played Dawood himself.
