Ex-Lovers Akshay Kumar And Raveena Tandon To Reunite After 19 Years? Here’s What We Know

‘Welcome’ is one of the most anticipated film franchises in Bollywood, with the first installment released on Christmas 2007. The film features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, and had an ensemble cast of popular faces including Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal. The film was directed by Aneez Bazmee and had a sequel released in 2015, starring John Abraham and Shruti Haasan.

Now there have been reports that the next installment in the series ‘Welcome Back To The Jungle’ will feature the iconic 90s couple, Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar. Ex-lovers and co-stars, the duo were briefly engaged in the 1990s, but eventually fell apart and went separate ways. However, both had moved on many years ago, and they appear to be comfortable talking about each other publicly. Raveena Tandon had called Akshay Kumar as ‘one of the strongest pillars’ of Bollywood.

According to a report in ANI, the actress said, “We were a hit pair, during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal?”

‘Welcome To The Jungle’ will star Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Suniel Shetty, and Jacqueline Fernandez. However, no official confirmation about the cast has come from the makers.
