Hrithik Roshan made his acting debut with the 2000 movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and gained immense popularity after his first film. But initially, he struggled with personal challenges like stuttering. Recently, Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan shared the difficulties his son faced due to speech issues despite his intention of expressing much. Recalling one incident, Rakesh shared Hrithik locked himself in the bathroom as he could not say ‘Thank You Dubai’ properly.
In an interview with ANI, Rakesh Roshan said “I used to feel bad that he wants to say so many things, he is so well educated, very intelligent but he used to hold himself back because of his stuttering. Once, I remember he was in Dubai and he wanted to just say ‘thank you Dubai’, and he used to get stuck on the word D. So he locked himself in the bathroom to learn those two sentences, to say ‘Thank you Dubai.’”
Rakesh felt bad for his son Hrithik Roshan due to his speech issues. He added, “He is such a progressive man but something is holding him back but he worked so hard on it. He used to wake up in the morning and for one hour, he would read newspapers out loud in English, Hindi and Urdu and now, he doesn’t stutter, for the last 10-12 years.”
Earlier in a chat with Mumbai Mirror, Hrithik Roshan recalled struggling with speech issues till 2012. He said, “I’d practice every day to overcome the speech issue, I still do for an hour at least so that I can control the secondary actions like twitching and all. The unacceptability to stammering was not only bothersome in my childhood but prevailed till 2012, long after I had become a film star.”
Hrithik Roshan worked in movies like Krrish franchise, War, Dhoom 2, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bang Bang! , Agneepath and Jodhaa Akbar to name a few.
