Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are gearing up for the release of their upcoming movie Mr And Mrs Mahi. The lead actors are extensively promoting the sports-romance drama. During a recent interview, Janhvi cracked a nepotism joke on herself which led to another joke by Rajkummar. The actress was taken aback by his remark and asked him if he taunted her. She recalled an incident from her school days when a mic in front of her during choir was turned off intentionally due to her weak singing skills.

In an interview with Mirchi Plus, Janhvi said “The mic in front of my face was switched off intentionally. The woman said ‘Janhvi ke saamne vale mic ko off karo (Switch off the mic in front of Janhvi.)’.”

Rajkummar quipped, “Rakha kyu bechari ko fir? Mana kar dete (Why did they keep her in the choir? Could have said no).” Janhvi then made a joke, saying “Nepotism, of course. Isliye toh rakha tha mujhe choir mein (That’s why they kept me in the choir).”

Rajkummar then said, “Fir toh theek hai. Fir toh kaash zindagi mein bhi hum bahut saare mics off kar pate (Then it’s okay. Then I wish we had the ability to switch off many other mics).” Janhvi asked Rajkummar, “Is that a taunt to me?”

The actor clarified his statement and told her that it wasn’t meant for her. He further reminded Janhvi that Mr And Mrs Mahi is their second film together after Roohi.
