Javed Akhtar And Kangana Ranaut's Controversy
In 2020, Kangana Ranaut's interview following Sushant Singh Rajput's death went viral, where she claimed Javed Akhtar asked and warned her to apologize to Hrithik Roshan over their alleged relationship. According to several reports, Kangana said, "Once Javed Akhtar called me to his house and told me Rakesh Roshan and his family are very big people. If you don't apologize to them, you will have nowhere to go. They will put you in jail, and eventually, the only path would be that of destruction… you will commit suicide. These were his words. He shouted and yelled at me. I was shaking in his house."
Finding it damaging and ruining his reputation, Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against her, which went on for five years. In his statement to the court, he said, “Whatever Kangana said in the interview is a lie and nothing but a lie. I had told her about the agenda of the meeting on call. Didn’t call her to discuss the weather, political situation, or the 2016 American election."
Recently, the duo ended their legal battle and posed happily together. The Emergency actor shared the photo on her Instagram story, praised the screenplay writer, and revealed that he agreed to write songs for Kangana's next directorial ventures.
