Preparations for the highly-anticipated movie Kantara: Chapter 1 are in full swing, with reports revealing exciting new details about the shoot. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the film has created a massive 200 by 200 feet set in Kundapura, Karnataka, the hometown of Shetty. Scheduled for a 20-day shoot, the set includes a dubbing studio and an editing suite, all equipped with full air conditioning.
To construct this massive set, 600 skilled carpenters and stunt masters have been hired from Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, settling in Kundapura for its development. This set is being touted as one of the largest in the country, rivalling the famed Ramoji Film City.
The film's cast, including Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, and Shine Shetty, are training in Kalaripayattu and horse-riding at the location. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara.

With a budget of Rs 125 crore, the film is expected to have its theatrical release later this year. The production house, Hombale Films, is also considering utilizing the set for future projects and renting it out to other productions.
Kantara, released on September 30, 2022, was a massive success, collecting over Rs 400 crore at the box office, despite being made on a modest budget of Rs 16 crore. As the excitement builds for Kantara: Chapter 1, fans are eagerly anticipating another thrilling cinematic experience from the team.
