Kunal Kamra Row: Kangana Ranaut Slams Comedian

Kunal Kamra has been embroiled in controversy after he took a jibe at Eknath Shinde's political career. Since then, he has been receiving backlash from politicians, which has also led to legal actions. Reacting to the matter, Kangana told the media, "To dishonor anyone is not right. You might be anyone, but insulting and defaming someone—especially a person for whom respect is everything—in the name of comedy is wrong. Shinde ji used to drive a rickshaw long ago, and he has achieved so much on his own. What credentials does he (Kunal Kamra) have? Who are they? People who couldn't do anything in their lives... If they can write, they should do so in literature. In the name of comedy, they abuse and make fun of our holy books and people. They call themselves influencers. We need to think about where our society is going, where someone does this just for two minutes of fame..."

When asked about the demolition of her office by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020 and the vandalism of the studio where Kamra had performed, the Emergency actress said, "What happened to me was illegal. I will not connect these two incidents. What happened to me was illegal, but what is happening here is being done legally."
