Ayan Mukerji's 2013 classic Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD), starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, has made a triumphant return to theatres. Re-released on January 3, 2025, the film has reignited a wave of nostalgia among fans, cementing its status as a cult favourite. With its memorable music, relatable characters, and heartwarming story, YJHD continues to strike a chord with audiences across generations.
The re-release has already proven to be a hit, raking in Rs 1.2 crore on its opening day. Fans have turned theatres into celebration zones, with many grooving to the iconic song Badtameez Dil during screenings. Videos of these impromptu dance sessions have gone viral, and producer Karan Johar described the atmosphere as akin to a rock concert.
Bollywood actress Sharvari, a self-proclaimed fan of the film, couldn’t contain her excitement about watching YJHD on the big screen for the 10th time. Taking to Instagram Stories, she shared a screenshot of her movie tickets, revealing that she would be enjoying the film with her sister Kasturi Wagh. “Eeep!!! So excited to watch YJHD with my sister for the 10th time and it always hits home!!!!" she wrote, tagging director Ayan Mukerji, producer Karan Johar, and the cast.

Karan Johar, reflecting on the film’s legacy, shared, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani holds a special place in the heart of Dharma Productions. The film, which also stars Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur, remains a favourite for its vibrant portrayal of friendship, love, and self-discovery. Fans from the millennial generation are reliving their cherished memories, while Gen Z viewers are experiencing its magic for the first time.
Meanwhile, Sharvari is gearing up for her next project, Alpha, a part of Yash Raj Films’ celebrated spy universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is the first female-led instalment in the franchise and also stars Alia Bhatt and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
