CORTIS Members: CORTIS are the newest faces in Kpop, and they’re already making a big impression. The rookie boy group has five members Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho and is creating a buzz even before their official debut. BIGHIT Music, now known as HYBE, announced their launch after a long wait of six years since debuting a new boy group. Their first album will be released on 18th August, and with excitement building, every new detail about them is catching fans’ attention.

Meanwhile, CORTIS is signed under BIGHIT Music, the company behind global sensations BTS and Tomorrow X Together (TXT). This is HYBE’s first boy group since TXT in 2019, making the debut highly anticipated. The group was officially revealed on 7 August, when they also opened their social media accounts, released their first concept photos, and dropped the music video for GO!  the intro track from their upcoming EP Color Outside The Lines.The label describes CORTIS as a “young creator crew”  a team of teenage talents in their teens aiming to redefine the idol image in 2025. Even before their official reveal, there were rumours and speculation about BIGHIT’s new group. Fans spotted them filming in Los Angeles and attending concerts by other HYBE artists, which only increased curiosity.

On the other hand,  CORTIS stands for “Color Outside The Lines”, representing their creative, rule-breaking spirit. Unlike most acronyms, their name takes letters from different parts of the words, reflecting their unconventional style. The group also focuses on creative independence, with members actively contributing to songwriting, choreography, videography, and production. In fact, each member was directly involved in making GO!.

Meet CORTIS Members

Martin (Leader, 17): A Korean-Canadian musician and the main creative force behind the group’s sound. He has previously worked on songs for ILLIT, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, and TXT.

James (19): The oldest member, from Taiwan, is a dance prodigy with a black belt in taekwondo and experience in semi-professional ice hockey. He has choreographed for several HYBE artists.

Juhoon: A former model who appeared in commercials and music videos before joining BIGHIT. He worked on improving his English during training.

Seonghyeon: Known as the most soft-spoken, he is the group’s topliner and lyricist, bringing creative ideas to the table.

Keonho (16): The youngest member, skilled in video production, and known for his fresh energy and creativity.

CORTIS Looking Ahead

With their debut just around the corner, CORTIS is set to bring a fresh concept to the Kpop scene. Their mix of talent, creativity, and HYBE’s proven track record could make them one of the standout fourth-generation Kpop acts of the year. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how these young artists will “colour outside the lines” in the music world.
