Diljit Dosanjh's Met Gala debut this year was one of the most iconic, as he stuck to his roots and represented Punjabi culture on the global stage. Besides turning heads with his traditional look, he was also impressed with Priyanka Chopra, who attended the Gala night as well. He revealed how he was moved by her gestures and stated that when your own people are around and they support you, it truly touches the heart.

Diljit, who is promoting his upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3, remembered an emotional incident from his Met Gala 2025. In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, the Punjabi singer said, "When I went to my table, there was also a Sardar boy there. He helped me a lot because I didn’t know anyone. I was alone, and I hadn’t been to a wedding or a party in a long time. The table I was at wasn’t his, but he still came over and said, ‘Paaji, whatever you need—tea, water—I’ll get it for you.’ Seeing a fellow Sardar there made me even happier. He was serving at the event, but he really helped me a lot. A big, big thank you to him."

Recalling how Priyanka Chopra made him feel comfortable and offered her support. The actor stated, “‘Diljit, I’m sitting right here. If you need anything at all, just call PC, and I’ll be there in a flash,’ she told me. When your own people are around and they support you, it truly touches your heart. That moment really moved me."

Diljit Shares He Cried On Thought Of Met Gala Look

His look was designed by Prabal Gurung, who tried to bring the idea of the Lover hitmaker giving tribute to his Punjabi heritage into his outfit. Diljit’s outfit was inspired by the legendary Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. Talking about the same, he added, “I cried when I thought of my look, that I would wear an outfit with the Punjab flag on my back and Gurmukhi script written on it. It wasn’t important that I go there; it was important that Punjab goes there, that the turban goes there. That thought alone made me cry."
