CID, which gained popularity since its 1998 inception, has enjoyed a good run on television as well as OTT. People developed a fondness for Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Janvi Chheda, Shraddha Musale, and Narendra Gupta's characters so mucht that the creators came back with the second season in 2024 after the its cancellation in 2018.

CID has taken several unexpected turns, from the untimely death of ACP Pradyuman to Inspector Shreya's return on Netflix show. Many viewers, however, were dissatisfied by the most recent development. Dr. Salunkhe, a beloved character, has reached an unexpected end in his quest. The way his departure was shown in the most recent episodes has angered fans, who have criticised the plot for providing a 'silly' explanation for his betrayal. But what really happened?

Dr. Salunkhe Leaves CID 2 But How?

Parth Samthaan entered as ACP Ayushmaan as the entire crew dispersed. He claimed that Barboza was helped by a 'gaddar' on the CID team. Once Barboza's intentions were disclosed, ACP Pradyuman returned to lead his team. Even while Barboza's scheme failed, he escaped detection. Reunited with his colleagues, ACP Pradyuman even expressed gratitude to Ayushmaan for leading the group effectively during his absence. The fans were also delighted with an emotional reunion with Daya when Inspector Shreya returned to the show. Ayushmaan then questioned ACP Pradyuman about the team's 'gaddar.'

Just recently it was disclosed that the traitor was Dr. Salunkhe! Furthermore, he admitted that he had left the CID team because they consistently denied him credit for solving the case. Narendra Gupta's time as Dr. Salunkhe in the show came to an end.

Dr. Salunkhe's exit infuriated netizens, with many slamming the makers. A user wrote, "Dr Salunkhe ko kaise traitor bana diya? usne to DNA report check karke bola ki ye ACP Pradyuman hai, achha hota ACP Ayushman ko traitor banata,wo to ACP Pradyuman ke tasbir ko ag lagata tha, uske coin pe ek taraf eye gang tha aur dusri aur ACP (sic)." Another user wrote, "Making Dr. Salunke a traitor makes no sense, people know forensics due to him. In search of gold, CID season 2 is losing its diamond. This much lag nowadays doesn’t give suspense, instead, it gives irritation. Few express, few not, but we feel #Boycott #CID2."

CID 2 fans want the entire writing team to reconsider the current scenario's complete plot from the beginning to the present. They are griping about what appear to be careless mistakes made by the writers in the screenplay.
