Filmmaker Farah Khan has been entertaining audiences with her food vlogs featuring several celebrities alongside her cook, Dilip. She recently visited her cousin and actor-director Farhan Akhtar’s home in Mumbai. During the vlog, Farah and Farhan reminisced about their childhood days and recalled how Javed Akhtar was furious after Farhan Akhtar failed to get admission to a college. Farhan also revealed that he had offered Farah to choreograph a song in his upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, but she refused it. Farah admitted that she was paid more money for MasterChef.

During their conversation, Farah recalled how Farhan eventually got into college because of his father, veteran lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar. Farah revealed, "He went to take admission in a college at the time when his marks were very low. And the college principal was very rude. She said ‘I am giving her admission because of Javed Akhtar sahab but actually he doesn’t deserve to be in this college.’ And then we were all feeling so bad and his father was so upset.”

She further revealed how everyone was emotional, Farhan was completely unbothered, until Javed Akhtar lost his cool. The choreographer continued, “After visiting the college, we were crossing Marine Drive and we thought Farhan would also feel bad, but he asked his father to buy him masala bhel. His dad got so angry and told him, ‘Sharam nahi aati tumhe.'"

Farah recalled living in Farhan’s house following her parents' separation. For those who don't know, Farah’s mother, Menaka Irani, and Farhan’s mother, Honey Irani, are sisters. Farah’s mother separated from Kamran Khan, a film producer who went bankrupt after several flops, which led to alcoholism and financial hardship.

During the chat, Farah stated, “When Sajid (Sajid Khan, Farah’s brother and filmmaker) and I were small, Farhan’s mother gave us refuge and help. And we lived together for many years in Farhan’s house.”

Farah also shared how much she wanted to choreograph a song in which Farhan dances because he is a really good dancer. In response, Farhan said that he had approached Farah to choreograph a song in 120 Bahadur, but she refused the offer. At that time, she had signed MasterChef India. Farhan added, “I was getting more money in Masterchef. Hamari puri family ko paise se kitna pyaar hai (Our whole family loves money).”

Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for 120 Bahadur, which brings to big screen the untold story of the bravery of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought in the iconic Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 war. He plays the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC.
Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios), the film is set to release in cinemas on November 21, 2025.
