Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher have been married for over three decades now, and the couple looks absolutely adorable together. The duo became friends in their college days and were quite active in the theatre scene during that time in Chandigarh. After some time, they reconnected in Mumbai. By then, Kirron had married Gautam Berry and Anupam tied the knot with actress Madhumalti Kapoor. Their relationship evolved from a close friendship to a romantic partnership after both experienced challenging times in their respective marriages.

Anupam Kher divorced his first wife in the year 1979 and took vows with Kirron Kher in 1985. Since then, the couple has stood tall and strong in the marriage world. Recently, Anupam Kher shed light on his married life and discussed the concept of modern dating patterns. The Bollywood actor recently appeared on Raj Shamani’s podcast and talked about his difficulty to understand some modern romance key markers.

He expressed, “The moment you find a person who is 10%, 20%, or maximum 30% (on your wavelength) get married to them. Discover the relationship afterwards. Love is the most confusing emotion in today’s time. You live with somebody, or you are in a relationship with somebody to discover what kind of person they are. But there is no sense of amazement, there is no sense of wonder about that person. I think a relationship should (turn into a marriage) when it is still being discovered. The rest of the things can be discovered over life.”

The Metro In Dino actor also explained is views on having a compatible partner. He said, “How long have your parents been married? Did they look for compatibility? Did my parents look for compatibility? I like to accept people as they are, and I like people who want to explore. I just feel, kya ukhaad loge compatibility dhoond ke (What will you achieve by looking for compatibility)?”

Talking about his marriage, Anupam Kher got candid and said that he understands that there will be failures in life and one has to work on them. He even accepted that he doesn’t have the ‘best marriage in the world’ and has hurt Kirron Kher a few times. Anupam Kher continued to explain that it is absolutely normal for the fire to fade away after some time of being married. All that matters is the intention to work on the relationship.
