Several users joked about the eyewear being shown in the Treta Yuga and questioned the film's visual treatment. A user on X (formerly Twitter) joked, "Bhai ne to peak detailing main Aditya Dhar ko peeche kar diya."
Another user wrote, "Ab ek buddha Aadmi chashma bhi na lagaye. This is not my India." A third user mocked, "Why not, dude... didn't people have eyes in the Treta Yuga or what?"
A fourth user commented, "Ye kesi vanar sena hai. Evolution kuch jyda hi jaldi hogaya."
Makers Say Viral Image Is 'Misleading'
The makers clarified that the viral poster is not a frame from the theatrical release in a conversation with India Today. They said it is promotional artwork and should not be treated as a scene from the movie.
"If this visual is actually present in the film, share one genuine screenshot photographed inside a theatre, or give us the exact scene and time code where a vanar is shown wearing spectacles. We will respond publicly."
They further said that circulating a promotional image as if it were an actual scene from the film is misleading.
The makers also said they will release footage from the theatrical version along with some of the viral claims. This will allow audiences to compare the images being circulated online with what appears in the finished film.
Director Abhishek Singh said the makers are open to criticism. However, he stressed that the criticism should be based on the film that audiences have actually watched.

Meanwhile, actor Anjali Arora, who plays Sita, has also spoken about the criticism surrounding her casting. She said she was judged before audiences had the chance to watch her performance because of her previous work.
"From the day my casting was announced, there were people who had already decided what my Sita would be without seeing even one scene. I always said only one thing — don't judge Sita through your opinion of Anjali. Watch the character on screen. If you watch the complete film and still feel I didn’t do justice to it, I will respect that opinion. But watch it first."
