The cast of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 has been creating buzz for quite some time. While Harshvardhan Rane's return as the lead has been confirmed, speculations about the female lead have been swirling. Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, who starred in the first instalment, earlier revealed that she had been approached by the makers for the sequel. However, amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, the actress has been removed from the sequel. Here's what Sanam Teri Kasam directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru said about Mawra's involvement in the film's follow-up.

Sanam Teri Kasam directors, in a recent interview with Hindi Rush, opened up about their casting plans for a sequel. Without spilling many details about the movie, Vinay clarified that, "Mawra definitely nahi hai."

This comes after Harshvardhan Rane's recent post on Sanam Teri Kasam 2' casting following Mawra Hocane's reaction to India's Operation Sindoor. Earlier, he took to his Instagram story and bashed Mawra for her derogatory comments on India, the actor posted, “While I am grateful for the experience however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated.”

After his post, Mawra took a dig and called it a PR strategy. Then, a war of words started between them online. Check out Rane's reaction:

Amid this ongoing controversy, Mawra Hocane, who made her entry in Bollywood with the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, recently her pictures were removed from the movie’s album covers on YouTube Music and Spotify. After this news, Rane didn't waste a minute and re-shared a post on his Insta story, that read, “Removed from the film that made her. Mawra Hocane erased by the nation she forgot to respect." Agreeing with the removal decision, the actor wrote, "National wedding."
