Actor Rakul Preet Singh has issued a clear warning to her fans after discovering that someone has been pretending to be her on WhatsApp. The impersonator has been contacting people from a different number while using her picture, giving the false impression that the messages are genuinely from her. Rakul urged everyone to stay alert, avoid responding, and block the number immediately. This incident is not the first of its kind in recent months. Earlier, actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Shriya Saran also reported similar cases of impersonation. 

Taking to her X account (formerly Twitter), Rakul Preet Singh wrote, “Hi guys… it’s come to my notice that someone is impersonating on WhatsApp as me and chatting with people. Please notice this isn’t my number and do not engage in any random conversations. Kindly block.” She also shared a screenshot to help people identify the fake account. These repeated incidents highlight how common online impersonation has become, particularly for public figures. Earlier, Aditi Rao Hydari also had shared that someone was using her photos on WhatsApp to message photographers and approach people for fake photoshoots. She requested people to stay cautious and inform her team if they come across any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, Shriya Saran took to Instagram and shared a note along with the impersonator account details. Her post read, "Who ever this idiot is. Please stop writing to people and wasting time! Unfortunately, this is weird. I feel bad for wasting people's time. This is not me! Not my number. Slamming the impersonator, she added, "On a lighter note the only good thing is , this crapy person is reaching out to people I admire and would love to work with! Very strange! Why would you, waste your time to do this? Go get a life, not someone’s impersonator."
