Ranveer Singh, known for his energy and versatility as an actor, is all set to take on one of the most iconic roles in Bollywood—Don. After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer will step into the shoes of the third-generation Don in Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar. The movie is already creating a buzz, especially after it was reported that Kriti Sanon will be playing the female lead. Now recent reports suggests that the team is set to begin filming.

Don 3, according to a report in Pinkvilla, will go on floors in January 2026. Ranveer Singh is currently busy shooting for his upcoming action movie Dhurandhar, directed by Uri: The Surgical Strike filmmaker Aditya Dhar. He will reportedly wrap up filming for Dhurandhar by September 2025 and then start promoting it ahead of its big release on 5th December 2025. Soon after, he’ll begin preparations for Don 3.

Meanwhile, the director of Don 3, Farhan Akhtar, also has his own acting project, 120 Bahadur, set to release on 21st November 2025. Kriti Sanon’s next film, Tere Ishk Mein, is also expected to hit cinemas on 28th November. Once their ongoing projects are wrapped, all three—Ranveer, Kriti, and Farhan—will fully focus on Don 3.

On the other hand, the casting for the villain in Don 3 is still underway. Actor Vikrant Massey is reportedly one of the names being considered for the role, but nothing has been finalised yet. “Even Vikrant Massey is not locked for Don 3, as there are multiple names in consideration. Being a big franchise film, multiple actors have reached out to Farhan for the character, and he is expected to lock the negative lead in a month’s time,” the report further stated.

Additionally, Don 3 will be shot mainly in Europe. Farhan’s team, according to reports, has already done location scouting and is currently finalising crew members. Farhan, who is currently in the UK, is working on scheduling and other production logistics.

Although recent reports from Bollywood Hungama also suggest that Kiara Advani, who was previously rumoured to have been dropped from this high-octane project due to her pregnancy, is now set to rejoin the cast. There are also rumours that Priyanka Chopra, a familiar face from the Don franchise, might make a cameo appearance.

Ranveer Singh’s Work Front

Apart from Don 3 and Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh also has another exciting project lined up—a zombie-based action thriller. Helmed by Jai Mehta, the movie is expected to start filming in the second half of 2026. The film is currently in pre-production.
