Bollywood's high-profile couple, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, is currently surrounded by multiple controversies. To fuel the drama, the couple is now accused of fraud, including Rs 60 crore criminal breach of trust. The Police’s Economic Offences Wing charged them with cheating and defrauding and is currently probing the duo to get to the root of the case. However, Raj Kundra has firmly denied all the allegations and called them baseless.
On Wednesday, Raj Kundra shared a tweet on X, clarifying that the charges and allegations are unreasonable and baseless. He said, "We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal colour without any lawful basis."
He further explained, "A Quashing Petition has already been filed before the Hon’ble High Court and is pending adjudication. Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the Indian judiciary. We respectfully urge the media to exercise restraint as the matter is sub judice."

Shilpa Shetty And Karan Kundra's Cheating Case
Shilpa Shetty and Karan Kundra are accused of cheating under the IPC section 406, which deals with punishment for criminal breach of trust and IPC section 420 for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property. The punishment under such cases is strict, as it attracts rigorous imprisonment of at least 7 years along with a fine.

Recently, a 60-year-old businessman, Deepak Kothari, who is a resident of Mumbai, filed a case against the couple for defrauding him by persuading him to invest Rs 60.4 crore in an investment deal. He made this deal with Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, where Shilpa and Raj are the directors. The statements of the couple have been recorded, where they denied the said claims.
On Wednesday, the Income Tax department also conducted a raid at the famous and luxurious hangout spot Bastian, owned by Shilpa Shetty, after a defrauding case was filed by the businessman. The investigation for the same is still going on as the police are trying to gather fresh evidence in respect to the case.
