The film not only marked her entry into acting but also became significant in her personal life. Sulakshana reportedly fell in love with her co-star Sanjeev Kumar during the making of the film. However, their story took a tragic turn as Sanjeev Kumar was in love with actress Hema Malini, who did not reciprocate his feelings. Later, when Sulakshana expressed her love for him, Sanjeev declined her proposal. Heartbroken, Sulakshana never married. After Sanjeev’s death in 1985, she withdrew from the film industry and led a reclusive life. Strangely, both of them passed away on the same date, November 6 exactly 40 years apart.
