Deepika Padukone opting out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit over her alleged demand for an eight-hour work shift has sparked a debate in the industry. Earlier, Kajol, Neha Dhupia, and Ajay Devgn have reacted to the 8-hour shift controversy, and now Vidya Balan has also joined the list. She supported the actress' flexible working hours.

Vidya Balan Supports Deepika's 8-Hour Shift Demand

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vidya Balan added her voice to the ongoing debate for flexible working hours for mothers and a healthy workspace environment. She said, “There is conversation about how mothers need to have an option to work for fewer hours, flexible hours, right? And I think that’s fair."

Emphasing her point, the actress continued by stating, "Every industry is adopting those practices so that we don’t lose out on new mothers, or women in the early years of them having children, so I think it’s very important that we do have flexible working hours for women."

Talking about her working schedule and preferences as she is yet to embrace motherhood. In the same interview, she stated, “With the kind of films that I do, we cannot afford to shoot only for eight hours. And I am not a mother, so I have all the time in the world to be doing a 12-hour shift."
