Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Ahead of its release on July 21, the film is generating tons of buzz amongst the fans and has an age-gap controversy attached to the lead cast of the film featuring Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh.

The biographical thriller received its first reaction after it premiered in Paris. The three-hour run historical drama received positive first reactions and was praised for its visuals, performances by the cast, and its impressive direction.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the deputy editor of Total Film wrote, "#Oppenheimer left me stunned: a character study on the grandest scale, with a sublime central performance by Cillian Murphy. An epic historical drama but with a distinctly Nolan sensibility: the tension, structure, sense of scale, startling sound design, and remarkable visuals. Wow."

Another critic wrote, "Christopher Nolan's #Oppenheimer is truly a spectacular achievement, in its truthful, concise adaptation, inventive storytelling and nuanced performances from Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and the many, many others involved —- some just for a scene."

Writer and producer Ben Mekler said, "#OPPENHEIMER may be Nolan's masterpiece. A chilling, galvanizing spectacle anchored by astounding performances. Cillian Murphy transforms into the destroyer of worlds, while Matt Damon's Dick Shitless brings charming levity. This is a *movie* movie and a definite Oscar contender."

Another international journalist who writes for the Associated Press, Lindsey Bahr, said, "Oppenheimer is a spectacular achievement in its truthful, concise adaptation, inventive storytelling and nuanced performances from Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr Matt Damon and the many, many others involved."

'Oppenheimer' will clash at the box office with Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Reynolds. Both films have received positive first reactions, thus it will be interesting to witness the box office race.

'Oppenheimer' marks Christopher Nolan's first R-rated film in 20 years. The film is a biopic about a well-known theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer and chronicles his brainchild 'The Manhattan Project.' It was a research and development project undertaken during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons.
