Making her grand return to the silver screen after a significant hiatus, Preity Zinta has kicked off filming for Lahore 1947 alongside Sunny Deol. The actress, known for her remarkable talent and infectious dimpled smile, offers a sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes action, featuring director Rajkumar Santoshi. She took to her official Instagram account to share a series of photos from the sets. Alongside the photos, she captioned, "On set for Lahore 1947," accompanied by hashtags such as 'new movie' and 'shooting.'
The photo collection begins with the clapboard featuring Aamir Khan Productions, the film's title, and the director’s name. Additionally, it highlights the esteemed Santosh Sivan as the director of photography. It continues with a selfie showcasing Preity and Rajkumar Santoshi. Subsequently, a cheerful snapshot is followed by a sign indicating 'HMU base. No phones on set.'

Shabana Azmi has been confirmed as part of the cast for Lahore 1947. Director Rajkumar Santoshi disclosed that her character holds significant importance in the period film. Additionally, Santoshi announced the involvement of AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar in the project, labeling them as his ultimate dream team for the film. "For a film of this magnitude, I can’t think of anyone else than AR Rahman as a music composer, he is one of the top composers in the world right now. Javed Akhtar and I share a very good bond with each other for many years, having him for this project as a lyricist is a delight. This is truly the best dream team and rare to come together," the director told Indian Express.

It is expected to be a period drama that delves into the emotional and historical complexities of that era. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and is anticipated to be a significant project given its talented cast and the director's reputation for delivering impactful storytelling. Several weeks back, Aamir Khan's production company's official social media account posted a joint announcement with Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi.
