Salaar on Netflix

Before its theatrical release, the film achieved significant pre-release success in terms of advance bookings and OTT rights. The digital streaming giant, Netflix India, reportedly acquired the streaming rights for the movie in multiple languages, making a substantial deal worth over Rs 100 Crore.

If reports are to be believed further, the creators of Prabhas-led Salaar have inked a deal with Netflix for its OTT streaming within 45 days post its theatrical launch. This implies that the movie, which hit theaters on December 22, is anticipated to be available for streaming on Netflix around the second week of February, tentatively.

'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,' helmed by Prashanth Neel renowned for KGF, premiered globally in Kannada and Malayalam. Starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan, the narrative unfolds in the fictional city of Khansaar, revolving around Deva and Vardha portrayed by Prabhas and Sukumaran, respectively.

Talking about the film, Prithviraj Sukumaran recently told PTI in an interview, "I had different notions about what the film would be. I didn't expect it to be a story of two friends, their bonding, and what happens between them. That caught me by surprise. What drew me in was the drama. Despite all the spectacular fight sequences and huge sets, what pulls you in Salaar is the drama. That drama, regardless of how big or small the film is or in which language the film is made, it works."
