Sankranthiki Vasthunam 2: Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam has created a buzz ever since it released in theaters on January 14. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film's gripping storyline turned it into a box office hit, making it one of the blockbusters in Telugu cinema this year. Amid its theatrical success, excitement for the film's sequel has been building on social media. Putting the speculations to rest, Venkatesh confirmed the second installment, teasing fans with the news.
Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam made the Sankranti and Pongal celebrations extra special for fans with its release. During the success meet of the film, Venkatesh confirmed a sequel and promised that he would return to recreate the same magic. The actor also announced that the sequel will release during the 2027 Pongal festivities. Further details about the sequel are still under wraps, but this news has certainly left movie buffs excited.
Generating even more excitement, before making the film’s OTT debut, the makers are set to premiere it on television. Sankranthiki Vasthunam will debut on Zee Telugu, with the TV premiere date to be revealed soon. Due to this, the OTT release of Venkatesh Daggubati’s film on Zee5 may be delayed.
About Sankranthiki Vasthunam
Venkatesh Daggubati plays the role of YD Raju, a suspended police officer who returns on a mission to solve a kidnapping case. The mission takes a romantic turn as his wife, Bhagyalakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh) and his ex-girlfriend, Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary), join him to trace the CEO of an Indian tech company, Aakella (Srinivas Avasarala), who has been kidnapped by the Bijju Pandey gang. The chemistry between Venkatesh's character, his wife and his ex-girlfriend has grabbed the audience's attention and has driven them to theaters to watch the dynamic on screen.
