Vetri Duraisamy Death: Director's Body Found After 9-Day Search In Sutlej; Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar & More Mourn Loss

Vetri Duraisamy Death: On February 12, the body of Vetri Duraisamy, a Tamil director and the son of former Chennai City Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, was discovered in the Sutlej river. His tragic demise occurred when his car lost control and plunged into the river. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and other political leaders have offered their condolences to the family.

Actor Kamal Haasan took to his official X account and condoled the demise of Vetri Duraisamy. He wrote, “The news of the death of Vetri Duraisamy, the son of former Chennai Mayor and friend Saidai Duraisamy, is deeply saddening. A young man, who was just beginning to live life and who was doing his work in a majestic fashion, meeting his end in such an accident is an unbearable thought. I embrace his father with a heavy heart and console him. He should recover from this pain soon.”

Sarath Kumar also wrote on X, "The sudden demise of Vetri Duraisamy, who provided free training to innumerable students appearing for the UPSC through his Manitha Neyam Free IAS Training Centre and who managed the institute, providing support to his father is a great loss. There are no words to console Saidai Duraisamy who has lost his only son. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I pray to the Almighty that may his soul rest in peace."

The unfortunate incident unfolded when Tenzin, the driver of the vehicle, tragically succumbed on the scene of the accident. As per the report, it is suggested that Tenzin experienced a fatal heart attack while driving, ultimately resulting in the loss of control over the vehicle. Vetri, who was a passenger in the car, had purportedly embarked on a journey to scout the ideal filming location for his upcoming movie.
