Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has become a notable figure in her own right. At just 26, Navya has successfully ventured into entrepreneurship. She co-founded Aara Health and started the NGO Project Naveli in her early twenties. Despite the Bollywood legacy of her family, Navya has chosen a different path, focusing on business and social work rather than acting.
Navya's brother, Agastya Nanda, stepped into the acting world with his debut in Zoya Akhtar's "The Archies" in December 2023. This fueled speculation that Navya might also make her Bollywood debut soon. However, her mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, recently put these rumors to rest.
During a recent event, Shweta addressed the speculations about Navya's potential entry into Bollywood. She stated, "I think you are very well acquainted with the work Navya does, and she has her hands full. I don’t think Bollywood is the way to go for her.” This clarification emphasizes that Navya's focus remains on her entrepreneurial and philanthropic efforts.
In an interview with ETimes, Navya discussed the influence of her privileged background on her career. She joined her father Nikhil Nanda's business at the age of 21.
Reflecting on her journey, Navya said, “My upbringing has shaped who I am, like it does for everyone. When we talk about being an entrepreneur at 21, I owe a lot of that to the privilege and where I come from. A lot of opportunities that I got are because of my privileged background, and I hope in my own way and through my hard work, I can create those opportunities for myself one day. I am very grateful for everything I have been given. I think I’ve more than I deserve at times, so for me, it is important to see how I can turn around those opportunities and resources I have available, and share those with others and maximise it.”
Navya's humility and dedication to making a positive impact are evident in her words and actions. As she continues to build her career and contribute to society, it's clear that Navya is carving her own unique path, independent of the Bollywood spotlight.
