Aadhaar Card fees updated: The Unique Identification Department of India (UIDAI) has revised the charges for the Aadhaar update service. As per the department, making certain changes in the Aadhar card will cost the most, while a few will remain free of cost.

For instance, charges for demographic, biometric, and document-related changes have moved upward. Biometric updates, required for children after a certain age, will continue to remain free of cost.

The new rate list of Aadhar update services, which came into effect on October 1, will remain in place until September 30, 2028, after which it will undergo another review in the following month.

Aadhar Update New Charges: Check Service-Wise List Of New Rates

- Updating Details on the Aadhaar card will now cost more as the UIDAI has revised the rate list of services, except for the update in a child's Aadhaar card, which will be provided for free. Here’s the New Rate List-

Demographic updates (name, address, date of birth, mobile number, email): Individual seeking to make demographic changes in their Aadhaar will now have to pay Rs 75 for the service, an increase of 25 rupees from the earlier charge of Rs 50.

If the demographic changes are paired with biometric updates, then no extra charges will be demanded.

Biometric updates (fingerprint, iris scan, or photo): As per the revised rate list of Aadhar update services, which will remain in place till 2028, the Aadhar centres will now charge Rs 125 from Rs 100, paid earlier.

Document updates (proof of identity/address): Free on the myAadhaar portal until June 14, 2026, but costs Rs 75 at enrolment centres, up from Rs 50 previously.

Rs 40 for printouts via eKYC or other tools during the first phase (October 2025-September 2028), increasing to Rs 50 in the second phase (October 2028-September 2031).

Aadhaar Biometric Update Charges For Children

- For kids aged 5-7 and teenagers aged 15-17, the first mandatory biometric update is free.

- For children aged 7-15, biometric updates are usually Rs 125, but it's free till September 30, 2026. This change in the new Aadhar update service rate has been brought to encourage timely updates.

New Aadhar Update Charges: Home Enrollment Fee

- Rs 700 (including GST) for a single resident.

- For multiple residents at the same address, each additional person is charged Rs 350.
